Finally found a few feisty spring rainbows in the scablands. Anyone else fishing the desert lakes this spring? Every experience out here is exceptional in some way.
Anyone else chasing steelhead this winter? It’s been tough finding fish in my neck of the woods.
Miss Kea the rescue Llew working the wind farm on one of her first days afield with me last fall. She has a different agenda than the other setters. She finds birds without question, but the process appears to be less of a search, rather a gleeful promenade across the prairie. She seems to savor every last bound of the run, driven by the hunt itself, not only the bird. I suppose she has her priorities straight as we approach her tenth season!
Happy Easter from the Palouse!
When a river bottom quail hunt ends in the blue grouse covers.
Valley quail are pairing up on the homestead, displaying the usual courtship behaviors and offering good opportunities to get close and observe behaviors. Time to break out the @jim.matthews.33 call and have some fun!
