Tough to beat brushy draws and bluebird days on the Palouse!
It’s been about a year since “Wingshooting the Palouse” published and I cannot thank folks enough for reading! If you haven’t read it yet, here’s a bit of what you will find within the pages. Available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble (link in profile).
Reflecting back on the moments from this past season have reminded me that time is marching on. With my best dogs starting to age out, Zeta is quickly moving into the starting position and is now my only dog who can physically handle wild chukar terrain. I give her a lot of grief, but she has improved and loves the game. Maybe I’ll make a retriever out of her yet! We shall see how she does this coming fall at six years old.
I hate that I am missing #pheasantfest2023, but love seeing my my write-up on @pheasantsforever258 Women on the Wing program, @washington_womenonthewing! Women on the Wing is an inspiring and effective initiative that brings the most enthusiastic women into upland hunting and conservation. Our chapter is an example of what this initiative is doing for Pheasants Forever. Check it out in the latest edition of the @pheasants_forever Journal!
Had some exceptional moments the last couple days of the Washington upland season. I shared the field with some wonderful new people. Our vests were empty, but the experience was spectacular. Looking forward to next year!
A tip of the wing to the upland season in WA.
